Today's range activities are:

50m in the morning

Registration opens at 9:00 am

25m sighting in range opens at 9:30 am until midday

General practice on  ground lanes (no benches at 50m)

11:00 am  Armistice Day commemorative shoot,

5 rounds on call

11:30 am, BASR

Prone, 5 shots in 2 minutes

Sitting, same

Kneeling, same

Advance to the 25m mark:

Standing snap, 5 exposures of 4 seconds, one shot per exposure on call.

Afternoon

The Rim Fire Challenge.

1:00 pm 15 Nov

Competition 1:

50m

50 rounds required.

Target 1:

Prone, 10 shots in 2 minutes

Prone rapid, 5 shots in 20 seconds

Target 2:

Sitting, 5 shots in 2 minutes

Sitting rapid, 5 shots in 20 seconds

Target 3:

Kneeling, 5 shots in 2 minutes

Kneeling snap, 5 calls of 5 seconds each

Target 4:

Standing, 5 shots in 1 minute

Standing rapid, 5 shots in 20 seconds

Standing snap, 5 calls of 5 seconds each

Highest scorer in each age group is the winner.

The scores from this competition will count towards the annual aggregate of the national sporting rifle shoot.

Competition 2:

25m

(at least 25 rounds)

The Ram Challenge.

  25m, standing

First Round

5 rams

On "START" first to drop 5 rams wins - no limit on ammunition

Winner goes to second round, loser retires. No bye, everyone must shoot against someone else.

Second Round

Surviving shooters from round 1 pair off, matching action types.

Each shooter has a bank of 5 pigs at 25m

On "START" first to drop 5 pigs wins - no limit on ammunition

Winner goes to the elimination round, loser retires

Continue until all have fired, odd person must shoot against a winner of this round – NO bye.

Elimination Round.

Snap

Seniors pair off - no differentiation between semi-auto and bolt action.

5 chickens per shooter

Three second snap, called UP, one, two, STOP

First to miss retires; the remaining shooter is the winner of that pair

If both miss on the same call, continue until one shooter hits and one misses.

If both survive 5 shots, reset and do again.

Continue pairing shooters until only one person is left.

The last person standing is the winner of this competition.

Repeat for Juniors.

.22 LR only

Standard velocity or subsonic - you will be asked to show your ammunition to the RO.

Normal supervision or juniors.
